More of Tess…

She’s been with us for just over two months now – and she really is a darling… 🙂

WOOFS from Solo, Krissy and Tess…

We’re baaaaaack! (And we have some news.)

We’re here, we’re here! It’s been a quiet year, especially as I wasn’t allowed to do zoomies because I’d torn the cruciate ligament in my knee… But I’m much better now, and … we have some exciting news…

Here’s a little collage showing the newest addition to our family… She is a black greyhound, called Tess, and she is 9½ years old. As soon as we saw a photo of her on the adoption page, we fell in love with her, and, literally days later, she came to live with us in her Forever home…

Tess has been with us for almost three weeks now, and she has settled in perfectly: we love her to pieces and hope she can enjoy a long and happy life here with us, Krissy and Solo…

🙂

Don’t toy with us!

We like our toys. In fact, Krissy and I personally think a hound can never have too many toys! 🙂

The Out-takes (or, Now You See Me………)

When she was looking at another friend’s funny photos recently, Mum was reminded that for every good photo she gets of me or Krissy, there are quite a few that don’t make the cut. She thought it might be fun to post a few of them here….. 🙂

This one was so nearly good…

OOPS!

We’re BAAAAAAACK!!!!! :-)

Yes, yes, we know we have been away from the blog for far too long….. Mum is hanging her head in shame but her dual excuse is 1) she was busy with writing projects and then, 2) her eyesight in both eyes seriously deteriorated over a very short time, and she is due to have a cataract removed from one eye at the end of this week. Hopefully we will be back to some sort of normalcy after that!

So here, totally at random, are a few photos taken over the past few months…..

I reckon I was having a word with Krissy, but she’s certain I was actually kissing the top of her head… (surely not!) 🙂

Then we shared a good joke….. 🙂

Time for another zoom! 🙂

Greyhounds as Pets NZ Winter Wonderland Weekend!

Last weekend our little village was host to a wonderful group of greyhounds – most of them adopted through Greyhounds as Pets NZ. Our Dad helped organize the weekend with Victoria, our GAP area co-ordinator from Hamilton. Because we live quite a long way from any of the monthly GAP get-togethers, we decided to ask whether people from other parts of the area could come up here to us for once! And boy, did they come! We even had guests from as far away as New Plymouth, which, for non-New Zealanders, is a loooong 8-hour drive away from here. 🙂

Colville Farm (http://www.colvillefarmholidays.co.nz/) graciously allowed us to book up most of their accommodation, and they proved to have the perfect setting for our weekend get-together. The weather was simply glorious for mid-winter, and the sun shone down on us all weekend.

Our friends who had a long distance to travel came up on Friday evening, and everyone else arrived Saturday morning. We had a lovely bush walk in the afternoon, followed by afternoon tea, then evening food (boy, was there a lot of food!), poetry, and musical entertainment throughout the evening. Most of us hounds (20 of us! plus 1 poodle!) were so tired out we slept through most of the evening, and just let the Humans get on with it…

Sunday morning we all met up on Colville beach and went for a nice brisk walk. Then back to Colville Farm for mid-morning tea and more food, then everyone began to wend their way home…

What a wonderful time we all had! Here are some photos Mum took of the weekend…
