Exciting news!

It’s been a bit quiet around here lately… We have all been doing the usual things (which for me involves lots of walks, lots of zoomies, and lots of sleeping on the sofa!) Mum and Dad have both been busy doing writing things on their computers – and they have obviously been up to other things on their computers, as well. I happened to look over Mum’s shoulder the other week (if I stand on the sofa behind her seat, I can just see the screen) and guess what she was looking at? OTHER DOGS!

At first I was really worried, because why would she want to look at photos of any other hound but me? But then I got sort ofย interestedย in the photos in spite of myself – there were some very pretty lady greyhounds on her screen…

Well, it took a little while for things to be sorted out, but it’s now official. Mum and Dad are adopting a second greyhound from Greyhounds as Pets NZ! We haven’t met her yet, but she is a very pretty little black and white girl called Krissy! She is two years older than me, but she and I have the same father! And her birthday is one day afterย mine!

Here are a couple of photos of her…

Meet Krissy! Isn't she cute? :-)

Krissy resizedShe looks like a cheeky little minx, so I’ll probably have to let her know who’s Top Dog around here. But Mum says I have to be nice to her, as she’s never lived in a home before, so Mum’s looking to me to set her a good example. (Well, we can hope, Mum…..)

The other bit of exciting news is that it’s my birthday today! I am three! We haven’t had a special celebration today, as it is Krissy’s 5th birthday tomorrow, and she is still in kennels at the moment. We will be picking her up onย Sunday, so we have decided that we will have a jointย birthdayย celebration next week, and my Dad is going to bake us a special cake!

Krissy has been living in the South Island, and she came over on the ferry just yesterday, with two other hounds who have found their forever homes here in the North Island. She’s probably wondering what on earth’s happening to her right now, but hopefully she’ll be happy once she’s settled in with us. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a picture of me wearing my birthday silk tie for my walk this morning. Don’t I look smart?

And here I am having a zoom round the garden the other morning – it was a bit chilly so I’m wearing one of my new coats that my Mum makes…

I know - red is definitely my colour... :-)

  7. Hi Solo and lovely to meet you Krissy! You two look like our Billie and April together – a beautiful blue and a sweet black and white girl! I’m sorry I haven’t visited lately but I haven’t been receiving any emails when you post. I’ll see if I can look into why that is. I’ll look forward to following your adventures together – it’s so nice to have a sister to play with!

    • No worries – computers can be a pain, sometimes, can’t they? Mum wasn’t getting any notifications from ANY of the blogs she followed a while back, and when she went into the admin dashboard of blogs she follows, she found that all the blogs had been unticked for receiving notifications! I hope you manage to get it sorted out. And, yes – it is rather nice to have a sister to play with! ๐Ÿ™‚
